Immigration and Relocation Services in Sweden, Denmark and Norway

Sweden Relocators AB handles the full range of Nordic immigration and relocation work, for individuals and families and for the companies that employ them. Every application is prepared and submitted by us, tracked to decision, and where necessary taken through reconsideration and appeal. This page is the index; each service has its own page with the legal requirements, the documents involved and the realistic timeline.

For employers and HR teams

Corporate immigration is where a small planning error becomes a six-month delay. We work with the permit strategy before the offer letter is issued, not after the candidate has accepted.

  • Work permits and extensions. The salary requirement rose to 90 per cent of the median salary on 1 June 2026. The transitional 80 per cent rule for extensions ends 2 December 2026. If you employ permit holders whose extensions fall after that date, review them now. Work permits
  • EU Blue Card. For highly qualified roles: higher education or five years of relevant experience, a contract of at least six months, and a salary at 1.25 times the average.
  • ICT permits. Intra-corporate transfer of managers, specialists and trainees from a group company outside the EU. Requires at least three months of prior unbroken employment in the group.
  • Business permits and self-employment. Business permit
  • Business visits and short assignments. Business visit
  • Company registration in Sweden. Entity formation, F-tax, VAT and employer registration. Company registration
  • Payroll administration and Employer of Record for companies hiring in Sweden without a local entity.
  • Destination services for arriving employees: personal identity numbers, housing and office search, school placement, bank and insurance set-up.

Employers with several concurrent cases get one named case handler across the whole population, plus a client portal where HR and each employee have separate logins.

For EU and EEA citizens and their families

  • Right of residence and residence cards. EU citizens do not register with the Migration Agency, but a non-EU spouse, partner, child or dependent parent needs a residence card. Free to apply, decided in about six months, valid up to five years. EU and EEA permits
  • EU family reunification. Rights under Directive 2004/38/EC, including the case law that governs how they must be assessed. EU family reunification
  • Parents of EU citizens. Dependency is a factual question about material support, not a formal obligation. Parents EU permit
  • Permanent right of residence after five years, and the certificate that proves it.

For families and individuals from outside the EU

  • Family reunification, national route. Maintenance requirement, adequate housing, and what the Migration Agency actually examines. Family reunification
  • Permanent residence in Sweden. Permanent residence
  • Long-term resident status under Directive 2003/109/EC, which since 12 July 2026 is granted as a five-year permit rather than permanent residence.
  • Swedish citizenship. The rules changed on 6 June 2026 with no transitional arrangements, so pending applications are judged under the new requirements. The general residence requirement is now eight years. Citizenship
  • Studies in Sweden and the EU. Study in the EU
  • Asylum. Asylum
  • Marriage, partnership and divorce registration. Marriage and divorce
  • Visit visas. Visit visas

Appeals and reconsideration

A refusal is not the end of the case, but it is a deadline. Two separate routes exist and they are not interchangeable: reconsideration by the deciding authority under Section 37 of the Administrative Procedure Act, Forvaltningslagen (2017:900), where new circumstances or a manifestly incorrect decision can be raised, and appeal to the Migration Court. We read the decision first, identify whether the error is legal, procedural or evidentiary, and then advise which route fits. We do not promise outcomes. Appeal cases

Denmark and Norway

Danish services are delivered through our partner company Nordic Relocators in Albertslund, covering residence through SIRI, CPR numbers, housing and school placement. Norway registers EU and EEA citizens staying longer than three months through UDI and the police, and non-EEA family members apply for a residence card there. Moving between two Nordic countries is two administrative processes, not a transfer.

How we work

Every case begins with an assessment: what the law requires, what evidence exists, what is missing, and what the realistic outcome and timeline are. If a case is weak we say so before you pay for the application. Cases are handled in Swedish, English, Danish, Urdu and Arabic among other languages. Office: Amiralsgatan 86E, 214 37 Malmo. Phone 072-327 62 76. Contact us.

General information, not individual legal advice. Requirements, fees and processing times are confirmed against Migrationsverket, SIRI and UDI at the time of advising. Last reviewed 26 August 2026.

Where we work

The permit rules are national, but the practical relocation is not. Housing queues, employer mix and the authorities you actually walk into differ by city, and Denmark differs from Sweden at almost every step.

  • Malmö, where our office is, and where a large share of arrivals live on one side of the Öresund and work on the other
  • Stockholm, the largest permit volume in Sweden and the hardest housing market
  • Gothenburg, where intra-group transfers into industry dominate the caseload
  • Copenhagen, through our partner company Nordic Relocators, with SIRI, Borgerservice and International House
